Foundation Year
During your Foundation Year, you will build essential academic and employability skills needed for success in higher education and future careers. You will be introduced to the basics of project management, management and leadership theories, and key academic and professional skills. A strong focus is placed on practical abilities such as time management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Year 2
In the following year, you will explore core project management and business principles in greater depth. This includes project management theories, project life cycles, and fundamental concepts in business and management. You will also develop skills in statistics, data analysis, and decision-making tools, alongside gaining familiarity with project management software.

Level 5
At Level 5, your studies will focus on developing core project management competencies. You will examine quality and performance management, as well as techniques for planning, controlling, and delivering projects effectively, efficiently, and sustainably. You will also strengthen your research skills within the field of project management.

Final Year
In your final year, you will study advanced topics such as risk management, global project management, and managing innovation and change. These modules are designed to enhance your ability to lead and manage complex international projects with confidence. You will also complete a practical project that allows you to apply your project management knowledge and skills in a real-world context.

This course is delivered using an authentic assessment approach, designed to place you in realistic, real-world business scenarios. This provides a structured pathway for evaluating both module-specific learning outcomes and overall programme objectives. In many modules, you will be encouraged to apply your own business ideas, enabling you to receive detailed feedback and reflect on how to further develop and refine your work.

Assessment is designed to give you multiple opportunities to demonstrate the full range of knowledge, skills, and competencies required in today’s business environment. Methods of assessment include essays, reports, presentations, real-life simulations, projects, and group discussions or debates.

Independent study is an essential part of the course. You will be expected to complete research, assignments, and group work in your own time, with self-directed learning playing a key role in your success. Tutors will support you throughout the programme by providing guidance on effective study approaches.

Assessment practices at GBS are reviewed annually and may be updated in response to student feedback, curriculum developments, or recommendations from an External Examiner. An External Examiner is an independent academic from another Higher Education Institution who helps ensure that academic standards are maintained.

Entry Requirements (Applicants aged 18+)
Applicants must be 18 years or older and hold a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points).

You must also demonstrate English language proficiency at GCSE grade 4/C or CEFR B1 level. If you do not hold this qualification, you may take an English test offered at a GBS campus.


Applicants aged 21+
We also welcome applications from individuals aged 21 and over who do not meet the standard entry requirements but can demonstrate motivation and commitment to studying this subject. Applicants should be able to evidence relevant academic, professional, or vocational experience in a related field.

English language requirements remain the same: GCSE grade 4/C or CEFR B1 level. If this is not held, applicants may complete an English test at a GBS campus.

The programme begins with a Foundation Year focused on essential study skills, project management basics, and job search techniques.
