Please note that the modules listed above reflect the current offering and may be subject to change as part of ongoing review processes. However, the overall learning outcomes and core themes will remain consistent.
This Beesmarter course provides opportunities for you to develop your knowledge and understanding through informal formative assessments. These take place before formal summative assessments, which determine your final grades.
Each module typically includes at least one formative assessment, allowing you to receive feedback from your course team. These assessments are designed purely for development and do not contribute to your final mark. They help you build confidence, strengthen your understanding of the subject, and prepare effectively for summative assessment tasks. Engaging with formative assessments is strongly encouraged, as students who do not participate often find it more challenging to progress through the Foundation Year and higher levels of study.
Summative assessments are completed towards the end of each module and contribute directly to your final module grade. These may include written examinations and a variety of coursework methods such as reports, essays, portfolios, and presentations.
Assessment approaches at Beesmarter are reviewed annually and may be updated in response to student feedback, subject developments, or recommendations from an External Examiner. The External Examiner is an independent academic specialist from another higher education institution, appointed by Canterbury Christ Church University, to ensure that academic standards are maintained and properly assured.
