The assessment strategy is designed to support the development of a broad range of knowledge, skills, and competencies essential to health and social care practice. A variety of assessment methods are used, taking into account learning outcomes, professional industry standards, student profiles, and our teaching approach to ensure an effective and well-rounded learning experience.

A structured and integrated approach is applied to assessment design. Methods such as essays, reports, presentations, debates, and small group projects are used to evaluate student progress and development. Where appropriate, real-life simulations are included to help students build structured arguments through reflection, critical judgement, and focused evaluation. Students are also expected to conduct independent research and present well-reasoned conclusions supported by appropriate academic referencing.

In addition, learners will develop evidence-based writing skills, enabling them to apply professional judgement when making recommendations and addressing real-world challenges in line with best practice. Group work forms an important part of assessment, requiring active participation from all members, with contributions evaluated through presentations and peer review.

Presentations may be delivered individually or in groups and are designed around specific scenarios. These assessments will typically include a question-and-answer component to further demonstrate understanding.

Debates are also used to explore key topics within health and social care. Students are required to present and defend a position within a group setting, helping them develop teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and the ability to construct persuasive, well-informed arguments.

To be eligible for this course, you must have successfully completed the HND in Healthcare Practice for England (Healthcare Management) at Global Banking School.
